Concrete driveway contractor is Cecco Construction. We replace concrete driveways exclusively in Northern Virginia. We works closely with clients to design driveways that not only meet functional needs but also enhance the aesthetic appeal of their properties. Cecco Construction uses high-quality concrete made at a factory. This concrete is delivered in a barrel truck. Unlike many concrete driveway contractors who utilize volumetric mixers to deliver their concrete, which has inherent issues with quality, color, and true strength. Knowing the fact that you are dealing with a Virginia licensed contractor that is also covered by Workmen’s Comp. insurance and general liability is something you should consider. Customer satisfaction is at the heart of Cecco Construction’s business. They maintain open communication throughout the project, ensuring clients are informed and comfortable with each step of the process. Their commitment to excellence has earned them a strong reputation as a 26-year-old company. Eliable, high-quality concrete driveway construction, Cecco Construction is the go-to choice in Northern Virginia. Their expertise, dedication to quality, and focus on customer satisfaction make them a top contender for any concrete driveway replacement project.
Types of concrete driveways we build in Northern Virginia. Cecco specializes in installing a variety of concrete driveways to enhance the appeal of your property. Our offerings include colored concrete driveways, which provide a unique and vibrant look that can be customized to match your home’s exterior. Colored driveways are created by using pigment that is mixed at the concrete plant to give a unique look to your driveway. We use both Davis colors and Increte color pigments. We also install brick-lined driveways, combining the durability of concrete with the classic elegance of brick accents. For those seeking a more textured finish, our exposed aggregate driveways reveal the natural beauty of stones embedded in the concrete, creating a distinctive and slip-resistant surface. Additionally, our stamped concrete driveways give the appearance of stone, brick, or tile, offering an attractive and versatile solution for your driveway needs. Trust Cecco to deliver high-quality and visually stunning driveways tailored to your preferences and budget.

How CECCO replaces concrete driveways in Northern Virginia. At Cecco Construction, we prioritize safety and precision in all our projects. To begin the process of replacing your concrete driveway, we first call Miss Utility of Virginia three days before construction starts to mark any underground utilities. On the day of construction, we hold a pre-production meeting with the homeowner to discuss the layout, the location of sprinkler lines, and any other expectations that were not previously covered with the estimator. This ensures that both the homeowner and the installation team have a clear understanding of the project.Using the estimator’s drawing, we gauge the size and scope of the work. With a clear plan in place, we start by removing the old concrete driveway. A bobcat equipped with a breaker attachment is used to break up the old concrete. Once the concrete is broken up, we switch the breaker attachment for a bucket to clear away the debris. The broken concrete and a few inches of underlying dirt are then loaded into a dump truck and taken to a concrete recycling facility. Next, we form up the new driveway. This is the stage where any necessary adjustments can be made easily, as moving the forms after the concrete is poured is much more difficult. Ensuring the correct size and dimensions for your Northern Virginia home’s replacement driveway is crucial. Once the forms are set, we lay down #57 gravel and tamp it down to create a strong base. Welded wire mesh and rebar are then installed for additional support. At this point, the barrel concrete truck, loaded with 3500 psi factory-mixed concrete, should be on its way. While waiting, our installation staff places grade stakes and string lines to ensure consistency in depth and proper drainage. Upon the concrete’s arrival, we use Georgia buggies to place the concrete, starting from the back of the driveway and moving forward. A large 2×4 is then used to screed the concrete, followed by a magnesium bull float to smooth it out further. As the concrete begins to hydrate, we use magnesium hand trowels to smooth it out without bringing up too much of the “cream” from the mix. When the time is right, we switch to steel trowels to achieve the perfect finish. A specialized concrete broom is then used to apply a consistent fine broom finish across the driveway. To ensure no premature usage, caution tape is placed around the driveway. The following day, we cut control joints every 8 to 10 feet, as recommended by the National Concrete Association, to guide the concrete on where to crack. After the control joints are cut, we remove the forms and backfill around the new driveway. We highly recommend waiting at least six days before driving on your new concrete driveway to allow it to fully cure and harden. This thorough and meticulous process guarantees a durable, long-lasting driveway for your Northern Virginia home.
Is a permit required for a concrete driveway In Northern Virginia. Cecco ensures code compliance for every project, including new concrete driveways. Generally, a permit is not required for a new concrete driveway. However, there are exceptions. For example, widened driveways requiring a concrete apron, such as circular driveways with new entrances, do necessitate a permit. Additionally, driveways exceeding 2,500 square feet and elevated concrete driveways also require permits. These regulations are in place to ensure safety and adherence to local building codes. Cecco stays updated on these requirements to provide clients with compliant and high-quality driveway installations, avoiding potential legal issues and ensuring the longevity and safety of concrete projects.
