Once the load is safely supported, the deteriorated sill plate is carefully removed and replaced with a new pressure-treated sill plate. When necessary, the top of the existing foundation wall is corrected or leveled to provide proper bearing.
After the new sill plate is secured, damaged floor joists or trusses can be repaired or sistered as required and properly connected using approved structural hangers. This restores a solid load path from the floor framing to the foundation.
